Light Table Loupe for iOS lets you easily view your film negatives

Image
There are all sorts of tricks you can use in iOS (Accessibility, for example) to view film negatives — the kind you got when you developed a roll of film shot with your analog camera — on your Apple mobile device. But now, a 99-cent app saves some thumb fiddling to let you easily view negatives straightforwardly — if you have a light table. It might seem like a stretch, but that light table could be an iPad, or even your desktop or laptop monitor set to a white background. Light Table Loupe, a universal app released today, runs on iOS 8… This story continues at The Next Web from The Next Web » Apps http://ift.tt/1JCnONP via IFTTT

Séduisante prestation des Bleus !

Image

If you want to connect people, sell stories not social media shares

Image
Content marketing may be a timeless concept, but its role within the digital media ecosystem is brand new. It’s known that blog posts, infographics, and videos are critical tools for building long-term customer relationships, but it’s also hard to connect ROI and effort. When it comes to content, purchases and transactions tend to happen over the long-term. Unlike other forms of marketing like search campaigns on AdWords and homepage takeover ads on mainstream media sites, your audiences won’t be looking at ads—they’ll be reading helpful, entertaining, and engaging educational materials from your company. Success, here, looks different from an immediate… This story continues at The Next Web from The Next Web » Insider http://ift.tt/1IqC8bi via IFTTT

Is Twitter dividing its userbase over hearts and stars?

Image
The dawn of the war between hearts and stars may soon be upon us. Prepare yourself, and be ready to choose a side. This morning, in a blog post on the MTV Video Music Awards, the company showed off tweets featuring the customized moonman emoji for the event. But it wasn’t the most interesting icon in the photo: the tweets in question had hearts on the “Favorite” button. Twitter has since corrected those photos to remove the icons, but the original photos remain in the cached version. We reported on the hearts test back in June, but Twitter’s (likely unintentional) use… This story continues at The Next Web from The Next Web » Insider http://ift.tt/1KSC31P via IFTTT

GIFstory: The origins of 3 weird GIFs revealed

Image
Another week, another set of GIF mysteries to solve. Taking requests from the TNW Slack channel as well as things around the ‘net, I’ve uncovered the details behind three GIFs you’ve probably seen on social media throughout the years. Every GIF has a story behind it, and I’m hot on the case! Read more about the GIFs and view their source videos below: Angry Panda The Angry Panda is pissed you’re ignoring him. Can’t you just give him the attention he needs? He’s the disgruntled subject of a series of award-winning 2010 commercials by Egypt’s Arab Dairy, who reacts negatively when people simply don’t want… This story continues at The Next Web from The Next Web » Insider http://ift.tt/1EnoGd6 via IFTTT

Twitter is heavily male and white, but it has a plan to change all of that

Image
Twitter has released its diversity numbers, and the company is unsurprisingly skewed toward white males. Overall, Twitter is 66 percent male, and 59 percent white. In tech, the number of males skyrockets to 87 percent, but the percentage of white dips slightly to 56 percent. In non-tech, Twitter is split evenly along gender lines, but still 62 percent white. Leadership — like tech — is mostly white dudes; 78 percent male, 72 percent white. Like we saw from Pinterest, Twitter is laying out a roadmap for diversity. By the end of 2016, the company wants its number of females to… This story continues at The Next Web from The Next Web » Insider http://ift.tt/1fKV11K via IFTTT
