Nola leads Fightin Phils to win in home opener

Aaron Nola tossed six shutout innings and the offense picked him up in a 7-1 win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Friday night in the 2015 home opener at FirstEnergy Stadium.


Nola, the Phillies 2014 first round draft pick, recording five strikeouts and allowed just four hits.


Reading scored three runs in the both the third and fourth innings to give Nola a strong cushion.


Reading (4-3) hands the ball to Jesse Biddle on Saturday night as the series with Richmond (3-4) continues with a 6:05 start.
