It’s time we regulated the use of drones

The thing about unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones as they’re commonly known, is that they’re very useful. They’ve been put to use for inspecting infrastructure, firefighting, monitoring in disaster areas or for environmental purposes, for border control, and of course their military use has been clearly demonstrated. The problem is that, as a recent Freedom of Information request has shown, drones have been put to all sorts of other unofficial uses, from transporting drugs into prisons or using cameras to voyeuristically spy on neighbours, in some cases leading to landowners responding with shotguns and rifles. Yelp has added a raft of new business categories to its booking and ordering services in the US. The platform now lets you reserve your place at a VIP table at a nightclub, set up a round of golf at your favorite course, try a new outdoor activity like skydiving, send flowers and even make an appointment with a legal consultant. Présents défensivement, portés par une superbe adresse à 3 points, les Bleus ont signé une séduisante prestation face à l'Allemagne et l'ont ainsi emporté largement sur le score de 76 à 52 sur le parquet de Strasbourg. The company says its scheduling app eliminates hours of planning and driving, by finding the optimal route between multiple stops for whole fleets. With support for time windows, vehicle and visit types, load capacities and various delivery constraints, Routific’s service aims to help companies save time, fuel and manpower when delivering products. It also includes a traffic simulator to help determine optimal routes for delivery vehicles, and is augmented by a mobile app for drivers that lets them track their daily schedule and progress.
