Shelter officials on the hunt for a man who tossed a dog out of his car

Shelter officials in Monroe County are looking for a man who tossed a dog out of a car.

On Saturday March 28 at about 4:30 p.m., someone saw a man toss the dog out of the door of his car, off of Scotrun Avenue in Scotrun, Pa.

The culprit is described as a non-Caucasian man, approximately 30 years old, driving an older model (80s) black Toyota with a N.J. license plate.

The dog, described as a Basset/terrier, is safe according to AWSOM officials. He is also very young, not neutered and completely shaved down. Officials say he is very sweet but very scared.

Officials also extend a word of thanks to the "Good Samaritan" who saw the act, picked up the dog and brought him into the shelter on a very cold night.

Any one who recognizes the dog or knows anything about the suspect is asked to call the shelter at 570-421-Dogs.
