At some places, when I pick up my racquet after getting it strung, the store employee will ask something like, "How is it?" Frankly, I have no idea if the stringing was poorly done or well done. I once got my racquet returned to me with the crosses all curved downwards, so that didn't seem right. Other than that, it always looks pretty good.
